Leaving The Good Place: Four Years Of Morality, Torture, And Paradise For The Characters And The Audience

It has happened. Four years have passed for us, while several hundred years’ worth of Jeremy Bearimy time have passed within a sitcom. And yet all good things come to an end. The Good Place is now one of those shows.

To be honest, I’m still reeling. The first time I saw the show, it was to celebrate Halloween in 2018 with my older brother. I was between jobs and wanted to commemorate my favorite holiday. Since it was late, I chose that over watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Now I have a day job, and I have other shows for Halloween. Leaving this world, however, feels hard. I’m trying to gather my thoughts and still feel shaken. We’ve said goodbye. This show did not go the way of Game of Thrones and anger everyone, including the actors. It gave us an ending.

The Good Place: A Summary And Timing

The Good Place came out in 2016. It started when Eleanor, a selfish woman, somehow ends up in the nondenominational form of heaven. She improves her character to avoid being sent to hell, realizing there are consequences to her hoarding shrimp in her bra and calling her new neighbor a tall giraffe.
