He once made a name on the National Geographic channel as “The Dog Whisperer.” Cesar Millan trains and rehabilitates canines, and has done so since 2004 when Dog Whisperer premiered. He would found the Pacific Point Canine Academy and the Dog Psychology Center to help larger breeds.

Cesar was kind enough to sit on a zoom call for this interview. He is very friendly, warm, and philosophical while also talking about one of his new dog safety products, Halo Collar, meant to create invisible fences outdoors.

You’re best known as the Dog Whisperer, and you have a new show now, Cesar Millan: Better Human Better Dog, entering its second season? How do you feel about your career and how much good you have done for dog owners?

When you’re a kid, you dream about your goals, and your goals are pretty amazing when they become your career. You don’t know if you’re going to make a difference in the world. I made a difference in the world, to become the best dog trainer in the world. I actually wanted to become a vet, but because my family was low-income and they couldn’t send me to school. So instead I watched the shows Lassie and Rin Tin-Tin, and decided that would be my career.
