Amphibia Recap, Episode 14
As we have seen, Amphibia is a world where anything can kill you. Even the tomatoes aren’t safe. The political system also isn’t great. Despite that, the frogs want to live. They at least want to squeeze as many years out of this death trap as possible.
“Cheating death to live your life” is the theme of these two episodes. We can’t live fearing everyone or trying to please them, but we can try to do what we can to live forever. Somedays the reaper is going to get you, and we can only hope she looks like Neil Gaiman’s Death and will reassure you about your life. We do hope that we can cheat death for as long as possible, and make something of our time on this mortal plane.

They all say preemptive goodbyes to each other. Anne promises to protect the frozen frogs because she won’t become a block of ice and gathers everyone in the town square after hibernation starts early. Protection duty seems to go well, once Anne gets her winter wear. Then she gets bored, thaws out Sprig, and plays with him until Polly goes missing. They track Polly to a cave, where a weasel stole her to feed her…
