Amphibia Recap, Episode 13

Knowledge is power. We need to decide when to act on that knowledge, and how we acquire it. Not all facts come easily, especially when we find unreliable sources, like people. Or we end up messing up because we don’t want to sit down and do all the work. These two scenarios come up in the next two Amphibia episodes.

“Gathering knowledge” is the theme of the next two episodes. Sometimes when finding information, we are ignorant when trying to educate others about our success. Anne tries to apply human imagery to a frog world and messes up. Meanwhile, Sprig sabotages her attempts to look up important information to get home.

Croak and Punishment

Sprig finds a beautiful Blue Moon shell that he wants to give to Ivy Sundew for her birthday. It goes missing while he and Anne muck out Bessie’s stall, and Sprig suspects he’s been robbed. Anne decides to act out her favorite cop shows to find the thief, using caterpillars as mustaches. They go out and interrogate everyone at the local market, but Sprig takes the bad cop routine too far at Anne’s encouragement. Eventually, they end up angering Gunther, a frog that can turn into a monster. No one wants to help them after the rough treatment, and Gunther chases them for miles after a failed attempt to pacify him with…
